From the desk of…
Dear community members, parents, staff, and students,
On behalf of East Liverpool Junior and Senior High School, Mr. Willis, and Mr. Taylor, I would like to welcome you back for what I anticipate as an awesome 2019-2020 school year. It has been 12 years since I last walked the halls of East Liverpool, and I can say that I have never been more impressed with the buildings and grounds, staff dedication, and student enthusiasm. I am excited to contribute to the good things happening and want to assure you that along with Mr. Willis and Mr. Taylor, I am dedicated to helping us achieve our highest potential.
In order to reach our potential, it takes the collaborative efforts of community, staff, parents, and students. In this manner, we invite community members to volunteer in the schools and attend student activities to show their support. We invite staff to challenge and inspire their students to continually improve. We invite parents to encourage their child’s or children’s achievement and support a positive mindset. We invite students to be present and involved in their academic and extracurricular lives. If we can focus on bringing all of these facets together, we can attain our goals together.
To start the year off right, consider the following tips:
Make attending school a priority. When students miss a day, they miss a lot.
Become actively involved in your child/children’s academic lives. Ask them about what they are doing in class or if they have assignments that need to be completed.
Ask questions and encourage your child/children to ask questions. Contact teachers through email, phone call, or schedule an appointment if necessary. Teachers put many hours into lessons, and they want their students to understand. Do not be afraid to have something clarified.
Discuss career and college options with your child/children. It is never too early to talk about what they are interested in and how they are going to prepare for a possible career.
